You can either make a guild, with gold and a sigil, or you can be invited to a guild. If you are invited, you have to check your invitations before you can join it.

Level cap is currently 20, I don't know if that will change in the future.

Lol, the most frequently asked newbie question ever, has been asked again.

It's level twenty, this was put to remove grind and slaughtering of other people. Guild Wars is about skill, not the number in your health/energy bar. Level doesn't make gameplay any different, because your enemies get harder. Skills affect gameplay, so people won't be saying, "I can't wait to get to level 999!", they'll say, "I can't wait to get this skill!" If you like to have a number that says 'Level 89' on your screen, great, but this game is not for you. Here's an example, you go on vacation and you come back and find that your friends are ten levels ahead of you and now you can't compete with them any more. Well here, everyone will be at level twenty, forever.

And yes, there will be plenty of Player Vs. Enemy.

And no, levels don't take forever to gain.

And no, this game will not be short.

And no, they will never raise the cap.

And yes, they will add all kinds of new PvE for your pleasure.

And no, you won't be spending your entire life on PvP.

And yes, this game is awesome.

I think I answered everyone's questions. Have a nice day, I gotta eat some Kiwis for dinner.

I'm sorry, but this question has been asked so many times that my head will explode if it asked again.

Finally, we have a young'un that understands the light. Usually we have to put them in a mental hospital to turn them to the light. These young'uns keep coming from World of Warcrap and make my head spins.

THE IDEA THAT A HIGH LEVEL CAP, IS GOOD, MUST END! IT'S A CONSPIRACY, I TELL YOU, A CONSPIRACY TO RUIN MMORPG PLAYER'S MINDS!

it has been clearly stated that it will not be raised in the future chapters

raising it would defeat the whole purpose they are working on

no raises and that is from THEM

I'm officially starting the Anti-Grind Foundation. All peoples are welcome to join, our goal is to stop this conspiracy and make everyone join Guild Wars.

As a simple member/user of the forum who believes the forum by it's posts can answer the same questions as many times as they are asked I give you a list of the various threads I remembered over the last week that seemed to answer many of the "common" questions that all of us noobs (yep yep I am a total noobie) have or have had about GuildWars

-This seems nice "I'm new to GuildWars" link to start with.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showpost.php?p=16356

-A poll with many responses about the level cap so you can see how many people have "converted to the no grind is funner" way of thinking!

*Edit* Link appears deleted by merge and is gone. Sorry

-Someone concerned about many aspects of the game including the level 20 cap made this thread.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...8819#post18819

-A WOW player makes a thread regarding weapons that might help you better understand GuildWars is a new breed of game.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showpost.php?p=18281

-Another WOW player who is giving up WOW out of disappointment over the battlegrounds posted this thread with their questions, these might better relate with you.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=1856

-This link sought why people like GuildWars the positive answers include the level cap.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...5&page=1&pp=25

-This link discusses how long it takes to reach level 20.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=1978

-This link discusses the skills-attribute relationships, short thread but reasonably easy explanation.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=1984

Any addendums or if maybe one of the admins/contributors/Anet people should have some infos to correct and/or add to this, please by all means. IMHO GWG needa some clear concise yet well articulated (Spooky your ears warm?) "catch new people as they come to the site sticky" that links them to articles and forum threads to help them be more comfortable, and also learn alot of the ropes to belonging to the community while cutting down on the likely redundant threads in Q&A. Talk amongst yourselves

Default Sin's no sinner...

Well done Sin...though I have to say you have merely grazed the tip of the iceberg...I find that many of the noob questions are answered in the FAQ section of the main GW website...Sure, it lacks the subtle nuance of the forums, but much of the info is there...

No offense intended toward Sandman, but putting in a minor effort and looking around a bit would have made the level post completely unneccessary...I'm guilty of the same impatience from time to time and feel your pain, but most questions I have had about the game have been answered simply by putting in what I think of as minimal effort...Looking around the forum and main site is a LOT quicker than posting and waiting for a reply (8 minutes elapses):

Quote:
???Guild Wars has been designed so you can get into it quickly and easily,??? explained Jeff (Strain). ???Unlike more traditional online titles, the idea is to have fun when you???re logged in, rather than preparing to have fun.??? One element of the game???s dynamic that this design decision has affected is the fact that you???ll only be able to level your character up to level 20. Although this seems low, the reasoning behind it is actually quite logical. ???Basically, we want to reward the player for their skill, not how much free time they have to put into the game.???
If posting is a means for you to simply be social (as it oft is for many of us...especially me by virtue of my lengthy post) then perhaps an expansion upon your original guild question would have been less apt to inspire derissive commentary...For instance:"Do I have to wait to be invited into a guild or can I solicite an invitation?" may have been a sequentially logical question to pose...(answer: You can beg all you like...)

While many of us have been pondering the level 20 cap, there is much to read about on the subject already out there...My only other friendly criticism of your original post is the extent to which you butcher the poor English language...ouch...Short cuts and abreviations and misspellings are expected (there are probably 10 errors on my reply alone), but "tyered" and "funner" made my butt pucker

OK...i'm dun messin' wit choo dood...welcum 2 th' b0rdz!!! n0 flaym in10ded, jest felt lyk droppin' my 2 coinz in da foun10...ima a noob, u a noob, it all swingz n da same tr33...
